Villages in Tuscany
BEAUTIFUL TUSCANY VILLAGES AND SMALL TOWNS
In the last couple of years, I’ve visited Italy, and Tuscany villages at least once a year. This pattern is not going to change as I have weddings booked in Italy for 2017 and 2018. I love that country so much!
I also love the chance to explore the area where weddings are taking place. That’s the beauty of destination weddings.
We always rent a car when in Italy as it is so much nicer to explore the area that way.
When traveling my absolute favorites are always small villages and towns. Tuscany and Umbria are full of them. The small villages are really charming and they usually are also less visited by tourists than the big towns. I prefer small, intimate, and quiet.
MY FAVOURITE SCENIC VILLAGES
The Val d’Orcia area (around Pienza) is one of the most scenic areas in Tuscany (or perhaps in the whole of Italy!). The area is really easy to explore in a day by car.
If you dream about the stunning countryside with cypress-lined roads, vineyards, little chapels, and rolling hills – the Val d’Orcia area is perfect for all that!
My favorite villages and towns around Tuscany are probably Pienza, Castiglion Fiorentino, Montepulciano, Montalcino, San Gimignano, Volterra and Cortona. However, I also love to visit also the little places that are not mentioned in any travel guide. I mean those tiny little villages with just a few habitats and small churchyards in the middle.

PHOTOGRAPHER’S TUSCANY
Needless to say but Tuscany is a dream place for photographers. The colors, the hillside landscape, little quirky villages, and the Italian people – just too perfect not to take your camera and shoot some memories.
The fog in the morning over the rolling hills, sleepy towns, poppies by the narrow roads, and the handmade gelato! They all make my heart sing a very happy song.
